Here at RookSoft iPhone Applications, we also develop applications for clients. Here is a sampling of some of our clients and the iPhone applications we've developed for them.
Brad Montgomery
The iLaughOutLoud iPhone application is now available for download from the Apple iTunes app store. For more information and ideas on how to use iLaughOutLoud, please check out the iLaughOutLoud page and the YouTube video for iLaughOutLoud.
Brad Montgomery is a motivational speaker who relies on his background as a professional humorist and entertainer to motivate and inspire groups to decrease stress, increase laughter and generally to enjoy life – and work!
Although Brad speaks to conferences, meetings and conventions about change, attitude, risk taking, and success, the common thread in his unique motivational programs is a message that “Life is fun and funny – and filled with magic.” Brad is a motivational speaker who reminds groups to take themselves and their jobs less seriously, encouraging them to lighten-up, smile more, and laugh a lot.
Mideast Youth
The Mideast Youth iPhone application gathers, in one application, the latest:
- RSS news feeds from major news agencies like Al Jazeera, BBC Middle East, Gulf Daily News, Washington Post Middle East, and so on with the ability to add additional news RSS feeds.
- RSS feeds from regional blogs such as Migrant Rights, Sudanese Thinker, Muslimah Media Watch, Promised Land Blog (Israel), and more with the ability to add additional blog RSS feeds.
- Twitter feeds from all over the region, including the entire Middle East and Northern Africa.
- Friendfeed feeds from all over the region, including the entire Middle East and Northern Africa.
- Mideast Youth Podcasts on topics including how the Internet changes the relationships between Israelis and Arabs, interviews with protesters and actors, the role of the Internet in reporting about Gaza, and more.
- Facebook groups for human rights on topics like ethnic minority rights, honour killings, migrant rights, women's rights, free speech and groups for peaceful dialogue about topics such as peace in the Middle East, academic discussion on the Middle East, Middle East youth initiatives, and more.
The Mideaset Youth iPhone application uses technology such as an RSS/ATOM reader, Twitter API compatibility, FriendFeed API usage, and a restricted web-interface which conforms to Apple guidelines in not allowing unrestricted Internet access. The application also utilizes a fairly customized interface where most iPhone components have been styled (or replaced) by custom graphics created by a graphic artist.
The Mideaset Youth iPhone application is now available for free download from the Apple iTunes app store.
MideastYouth.com is a student-owned independent network that promotes constructive dialogue and understanding within the Middle East and North Africa. Arabs, Iranians, Kurds, and Israelis work side by side on a variety of different projects in order to advance towards moderation and interfaith understanding.
Reach Accounting
The Reach Accounting iPhone application was designed to be used in conjunction with the Reach Accounting web-based accounting package. Enter expenses, paid via cash, chequing account, etc., take a picture of the receipt, and synchronize with the online Reach Accounting package. Perfect for recording those on-the-go purchases.
The Reach Accounting iPhone application uses SOAP calls to communicate with web services on a remote server to get the latest account information and receive JSON data which it then displays to the user. The application also has the capability to use the iPhone camera to take photographs of receipts (and any other relevant accounting documents) and to upload those images to the server via the same web services. This is an example of an application which uses the standard iPhone components to build the user interface.
Reach Accounting is an Australian company as well as being the name of their web-based accounting package.
BogenBlog
Spine Calc is a useful tool, especially for traditional archers.
In archery, wooden arrows are still very common, even required, for some types of bows by the various archery associations worldwide. Wooden arrows can be relatively hard or soft, and that hardness or softness is called the spine value. Matching the arrow's spine value to the type of bow you use is necessary for you to have arrows that fly straight and accurate.
Spine Calc helps you to calculate the right value for you. Spine Calc has proven its value already in its HTML-version on www.bogenblog.de and is now also available for the iPhone platform and is available for download from the Apple iTunes app store.
Spine Calc has an interface which is completely customized. All user-inteface elements were created using custom graphics created by a graphic artist and most iPhone component functionality was replicated via the custom graphics.
More information about Spine Calc is available here.
